Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is sleep training the cry it out method?
A: The Cry It Out (CIO) method is one of many techniques used to help little ones sleep but is NOT the only method for sleep training, nor is it the best for every family. There are other ways of supporting your little one as they learn to be independent sleepers that are gentler and better suited for each family. Catching Z's will help you find the best technique for your family based on your parenting styles and philosophy.
Q: Will my child cry during the process?
A: Your little one may cry during the sleep training process because that is their way of protesting change. Even toddlers cry when they do not get their way! This is a developmentally appropriate way of communicating and with consistency to the plan and my support along the way, crying will not last throughout the whole process! You can teach them how to fall asleep independently while giving them the reassurance they need.
